Coal is a 3 year old Black Lab, certified by the North American Police Work Dog Association as a "narcotics detection dog".
Coal works with his handler, Sgt. Ed Geib, for the Manheim Borough Police Department and has in the past done searches not only in Manheim, but for several other Lancaster County police departments.
This narcotics detection team was trained at Castle's K9, by Master Trainer Bill Castle and has continued with regular update training with Castle, as well as on their own since they were certified in August, 2000.
Coal was purchased through the generous donations of Manheim's citizens, civic organizations and school district.
Sgt Geib and his partner Coal would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the support of the community and will continue to train to keep the team working to the highest standards to serve their community.
